Where do I pick up my cargo?
Whether it is a motor vehicle, bulk, break-bulk or containerised cargo, once you have cleared Customs and settled all charges, please proceed to the KWL gate with your delivery slip. Our yard staff will guide you to the correct area—whether container yard, vehicle lot, warehouse, or breakbulk yard.
How do I know if my cargo is ready?
Your cargo is ready for pickup once:
- Customs clearance in ASYCUDA is completed
- All duties, taxes and fees are paid
- Kingston Wharves charges are paid
- Required inspections are completed
- Delivery Slip is issued
What fees do I pay?
Typical fees include:
- Terminal Handling Charges (THC) for equipment use
- Storage fees (Paid to the Port Authority if the free period has expired)
- Wharfage fees
- Overtime fees (if applicable)
- Demurrage (Paid to the Shipping line if the free period has expired)
- Wharfage fees is a delivery fee
When do storage fees begin?
Free storage covers the first seven (7) days after cargo discharge. Daily fees apply after that.
What are Demurrage Fees?
Demurrage fees are payments made to shipping lines after a certain time has passed and an empty container has not been returned to them by the customer. This fees and free time vary by shipping line but is usually calculated at a daily rate.
How do I get a Delivery Slip?
Once Customs has released your cargo and KWL charges are paid, a Delivery Slip will be issued by the cashier. This authorises pickup of your cargo.
What does my driver need to collect cargo?
- KWL-issued Delivery Slip
- Valid photo ID
- Vehicle documents or authorization letter (if required)
